One of crucial features for advanced photo management is feature rich renaming tool. Thanks to Andi Clemens digiKam now has this tool.

This week we saw finishing of work on new color management code; updating of libraw to stable 0.8.1 (28 new cameras comparing to previous 0.7.x stable release, API extension and fixes); optimizations in thumbnails display; preparations for 1.0-beta4 (released on 31st August).

Looks like summer finally caught up with me ;) This week we saw cleaning of many bugs in color management area; easier navigation in HTML galleries; and drag'n'drop sorting in file widget of KIPI plugins (life saver in slideshows!). Also two new important features: much more improved and extended renaming feature and dockable thumbbar from Album GUI.

Looks like summer finally caught up with digiKam developers! This week digest will be very short: ongoing work on refactoring color profiles code; libkdcraw updated to libraw-0.8.0-beta5 (support for RAW files bigger than 2GB); new features in flickr export. A total of 10 bugs were closed (including several crashes) while 8 new ones were reported.

This week we saw: fixing of Exif rotation flags; new layout of RemoveRedEyes KIPI plugin; new widget for lists of images for KIPI plugins; refactoring of ICC code for cleaner code-base, preparation for general bug fixing and easier maintenance in future. Interesting things which happened last week:

Another exciting week for digiKam users. One of most desired features was introduced: "Sort images by date - even when spanning albums" and beginning of work on independent database backend. Also in this week digiKam 1.0-beta3 and KIPI-plugins 0.5 were released.
