Exiv2 0.10.0 is out

Exiv2 0.1.0 library is now available for download. This new release is very improved, compared to 0.9.1.

In this release a new TIFF file parser have been add (read only at this moment). All major RAW files format can be parsed to extract Exif and Makernote metadata:

- TIFF/EP (tiff file format including Exif/makernote)
- DNG (Adobe RAW),
- SR2 (Sony RAW),
- CRW (Canon RAW version 1),
- CR2 (Canon RAW version 2),
- PEF (Pentax RAW),
- MRW (Minolta RAW),
- NEF (Nikon RAW)

Since digiKam core depending of Exiv2 library, i'm become an Exiv2 developper. with 0.10.0, i have added a new Minolta Makernotes with a better support of Dynax 5D than ExifTool.

For the next release, TIFF parser wil be improved to support write access. Like this metadata will be updated into RAW files like JPEG !

Too, i have planed to add i18n support for all messages and descrition tags provided by Exiv2. For this subject, digiKam translators will welcome to translate Exiv2 too when i18n support will be finalized.

Also, I will add a new PNG file parser... because it's my preferred file format to convert/backup my RAW files in 16 bits color depth with metadata preservation.

I recommend to all digiKam users witch experiment current implementation of digiKam from svn (0.9.0) to use this new Exiv2 release.
